Today, The Baligan Bulletin interviewed King Paul M of Ebenia. This marks the first major interaction between a Baligan and an Ebenian since Ebenia dropped its claims on Baligan territory, and it is the first time a foreign leader has been interviewed by the Bulletin since summer last year. A lot of the Baligan Bulletin’s coverage as of late has been sympathetic to the Baligan side of this dispute. In this article, we address the Ebenian side of the conflict.
The interview began with the collapse of the Imperial Republic of Baliga. The Imperial Republic was an Ebenian puppet state, formed during a brief period of recess from the Baligan government, and claimed all Baligan territory. It never had control over the lands it claimed.
“What do you think caused the collapse of the Imperial Republic of Baliga?” asked a Bulletin reporter.
King Paul of Ebenia responded by saying, “It wasn’t a collapse. It was just that the Imperial Republic was inactive, and Sam wasn’t doing anything to fix it, as usual, because he ‘didn’t know what to do’ or some such. So I disbanded it.”
“Did it have anything to do with the pressure the Bulletin put on Ebenia, and Sam's new role as Baligan Foreign Minister, or was that all ineffective policy?” the reporter asked.
“It had nothing to do with any pressure,” said the King.
This statement contrasts with when Sam said, “I got Paul to stop claiming Baliga and dissolve his rival government for it.”
The interviewer then moved on from the topic of Baliga and asked about the Kingdom of Ebenia.
“What are Ebenia's plans for the future, and where do you see Ebenia in six months' time?” they asked.
Paul responded by saying, “We are trying to form a military — having created ranks — and we’re trying to put our government’s activity on steroids.”
The interview then focused on a recent development: the overturning of the controversial Ebenian ‘anti-furry law.’ The law, originally passed on March 26th, 2024, was overturned on August 25th, 2025. Ebenian Parliament came to a deadlock, meaning King Paul himself had the deciding vote.
“I’ve heard Ebenia has recently had some big news — you’ve overturned your infamous anti-furry law. Do you feel this is a positive step for Ebenia, and what does it signify about its future trajectory?” asked the reporter.
“We only overturned it because it was costing us members,” stated Paul.
Finally, the interview turned to recent developments in Baliga. Sam, a former Ebenian regent, had become the Baligan Foreign Minister, appointed by President Benjamin on September 18th.
“How do you feel Sam being made Baligan Foreign Minister will affect relations between the two nations? Will having someone you worked with so closely have a positive or negative impact?” the reporter asked Paul.
“Sam got cocky after I dissolved it. He thought he was a cornerstone of Ebenia, so I banned him. I’ll unban him in a week.”
